Now a wolf scout

This years scouts was once again kicked off by the rocket launch. Due to some canceled summer events it was also cross over. Logan is now a wolf scout. Logan took on this event in classic Logan style. Watching from the sidelines barely participating. The scouts would chase down the rocket as it was launched. Logan sent Lucas in his place. But if you ask him, he had a great time. Lucas is asking when he will be a scout. He didn't like my response...never. Okay maybe.

Hillbillies

So whoever thought of Hillbillies as the theme for a theme park was genius. Both the people in costume and the guests all blend together. Today was the first theme part experience for the B boys and they loved it. Couldn't have been a better day. We joined Meredith and Connor for the day in Branson. We had good boys, brave boys, patient boys...perfect. Kale found his home in the theme park. There wasn't a ride he said no to. The minute he got off he wanted to do that ride again. It all went down hill for him when he got wet. Unplanned wet clothes is not Kale's cup of tea. We all know this about him. The boy got drenched on the first water ride. Had I been a wise mom, I would have brought him a change of clothes. It was no surprise that Logan was the least into the rides. There was only one ride (the flooded mine) that was dark and in water (but not wet) that we experienced a slight panic attack from Lucas. "This guy doesn't like this. Lucas wants off!" was heard by all. The drive home was an adventure as Steve and Meredith thought they knew better than the GPS. So you know...they don't. We actually will consider going again. Results I did not expect.

Always thinking

Kale has decided that he will wear this next time to Aunt Kasey's. Just in case she looses "lightricity". Random...but always a thinker.

Words

Lucas is into writing words. He is very proud of himself. Unfortunately these words also come out of his mouth.

Day 3

Day 3 of school. Lucas got his card pulled from green to yellow. That didn't take long. However, he did not like it and has vowed that it will never, ever happen to him again. Anyone want to place any bets on when the next time will occur?

Back to Escuela

The boys started back to school today. I walked them each to their classroom.

Logan took on the first day of 2nd grade like it was no big deal. He even let me take a couple of pictures. His best buddy Connor is in his class which he is totally pumped about. He's excited about his teachers. We're lucky that so far he really likes school. Not sure he will like the reading, studying and homework that go with it but time will tell.

Lucas had a lot of nervous energy getting ready for his first day of Kindergarten. This was real school. Once we got to the school the nervous energy was bottled up and he looked terrified. He held my hand as we walked the hallways to ditch his brother. Then it was his turn. His little hand remain secure in mine the whole walk to his room. While there is only 16 kids in his class, there were a million people in his room. It was overwhelming. We found his desk and took out his school supplies and then hung his backpack up. The whole time Lucas had big eyes on and immediately just did everything I told him to do. He took his seat and was both silent and still. I quietly asked him if he was scared. He replied in his weak little voice, "No". His face and body language certainly said otherwise. We worked on a name puzzle made out of poker chips. I introduced him to the kids at his table of five. He knew 2 of them but they were girls so he wasn't too stoke about that. We talked about how fun the day would be, what to expect and where to go after school. The time had come and I had to leave my brave little boy to be on his own. I whispered good bye in his ear and he turned and gave me a hug and a kiss. I told him he would have the best day ever and he whispered, "I know". I walked out as he sat in his chair, still and silent.

Back to "school"

Kale started back at Miss Brenda's this week. He's pretty ticked that he isn't going to school so we got him a backpack, new school shoes, and school supplies for him and his buddies so that it would seem like school. He will do some learning there so there's no harm in calling it school if that makes him happy. He didn't have to start this week but he wanted to. That kid is so stinking cute and growing up way too fast!

PS...Kasey that is milk on his shorts from his cereal not what you were thinking! It stressed him out and we nearly had to change shorts.

Logan's Guardian Angel

Logan is blessed with the best Guardian Angel ! Wednesday night Steve was mowing the yard. He was mowing the narrow strip in front the house at the top of the steep hill. He shut down the mower and went to help Lucas (who got a fishing hook stuck in his leg. Superficial...he was totally okay). While Steve was helping Lucas, Logan decided to hop on the mower. When he jump on he accidentally knocked the mower out of gear and into neutral. The mower and Logan began the scary journey backward, diagonally down the hill. The mower crashed into the bottom of the hill throwing Logan off. The mower flipped up backward and fell on it's side on top of Logan's leg. Steve sprinted down the hill and got the mower off of Logan. Aside from a small knot on the back of his head and scrapes around his eye, knees and ankle...Logan was perfectly fine. It scared the #!$@ out of Logan and Steve. I got home from work just in time to witness Steve dragging the mower up the street with a chain hooked on to the front of the Yukon. Needless to say Logan could have gotten very hurt but thanks to his guardian angel that wasn't the case! He felt really bad about breaking the lawn tractor...which was the least of our concerns. All of the boys learned a huge lesson about the mower (and cars) that day. Logan is hoping his eye heals by Monday so he doesn't have to tell anyone what happened...well, except he'll tell Connor.

Thanks to our neighbor, Leahman, the steering column is fixed and the front wheels know point in the same direction. Mower will be back to normal once Steve figures out how the level out the mulching deck.

Kale's Ladies

So we were shopping at the mall. We found ourselves browsing through the Gap. Steve and Lucas hit the Men's side while Kale, Logan and I swung through the women's side. Toward the back of the store they had their Jeans with like 5 banner's hanging from the ceiling with a different model on each one. They all looked about like this:
Out of nowhere Kale casually says, "Those are my girlfriends."

Logan and I busted up laughing.

The little fish

Friday night the Boy Scouts hosted a swim event at a local Aquatic Center after hours, 8:00 - 10:00 pm. Too late for me but we endured. While it was unseasonably cool, it didn't stop the B boys from swimming. Well it did slow down Kale some they all swam a ton none the less. And that Kale is turning into a little fish. He will now put his whole body underwater and swim forward. He's awesome. No fears, just takes on the water. Logan manned up and took on the big water slides. Lucas got held up with the height card. He wasn't phased by it. Logan also earned his swimming belt loop...which I may of already said he earned last year...but we are totally legit now.
