The first day of school

The day Kale has be anticipating and the L's have been dreading has finally arrived. The day comes with some nerves and some excitement. No more late summer evenings...back to homework and a schedule. Yuck! But, the fellas are back with their fellas. So much fun to see the friends again. And Kale was to the moon with excitement. Marched right into that classroom and hid behind my legs! The room was packed with parents, siblings and new kids. It is too overwhelming. However, the boy was brave. ..sat down and started playing and let me walk the other boys to their classroom. Second day, he told me I didn't need to hang around so long this time! WTH? Logan and Lucas knew the drill so it was no big thing. Found their desks, hung up the backpack, took some pix with friends and let the day begin.

BMXer

We discovered a BMX park this summer and they boys love it! Kale hasn't braved the actual corse but has fun anyway. As you can imagine Lucas tears it up and we practically have to drag him off when it's time to go. Logan is in awe of the teenager than can get air over the hills. Steve and I have both raced the boys and sadly I lost. Steve would have lost had he not ran Lucas off the course causing him so much pain he couldn't continue! Drama...

Oh, Kale

Where did my little boy go? In just days you will be starting school and I can't believe it. I wish I could stop the clock on you growing and keep you just the way you are. Bring my baby back!

BMXers

Super Dad has been taking the boys to the bike track this week making sure there summer ends on a strong note. They are loving it, even though it's a million degrees outside. Lucas caught some air once and I think it freaked him out a little. Logan wants to enter some races...we'll see. Kale recently decided he was going to learn to ride a bike and has taken to the track like a pro. Just about a week ago he asked for his training wheels to be taken off and with a little determination taught himself how to ride. All at just 4 years old. Well ahead of his brothers!

1st girls weekend

Avery and I had our first girls weekend. We kick those boys out and shipped them off to Kansas. We had a fun time together if you factor out the high fever, doctor visit, and kicking it newborn style at night. Pesky little virus. (Of course Steve just thinks she was just missing daddy as we was all better once he was home...uh, I don't think so!) The ladies shopped and snuggled and napped and played together. A first of many I'm sure.

They boys spent there time in Great Bend with the grandparents. They fished, helped Grandpa work in the yard, rode their bikes in all of the amazingly flat Kansas space they could find, swam and just hung out. They had a blast but mama was glad to have them home!
