Tuesday on the lake

Nothing finer than hitting the lake after work on a random Tuesday. We were the only ones around. Weather was beautiful, water was pretty still. We watched a deer drink from the lake (my deer calls lured her out!) It turned out to be a night of firsts. Logan took his first attempts at diving and a front flip. Lucas finally jumped off the back of the boat. We have been trying to get him to do this forever! As predicted...he loved it! Kale did the same. Kale also road the tube by himself. Not a big lover of the tube. None of the boys are. Lucas won't do it. Logan will as long as we don't exceed 13 miles per hour. They are real dare devils.

Avery's new Trick

She's rolling over...both directions. Back to tummy and tummy to back. Anytime you lay her down she flips right over. Only one other kid of my did things so easily and so quickly. His name starts with an L.U.C.A.S. I hope this isn't foreshadowing anything!

Pool Opening

We opened the pool for the season. It was a little cold but we just fired up the heater and warmed it right up. Had to really shock it this year. Kids are swimming like fish. Don't even have to worry about them in the deep end!

Reversible Kimono Dress

My latest sewing adventure. I think I love each new dress I make better than the last one. This one she might be able to wear this winter with a onsie underneath it and some tights. It's reversible as well.

Baseball Band

You might think it's a bracelet but band makes it sound much more manly. The boys and I made these today. Can't take credit for the idea though. It was super easy however, a leather cover is a must.

Much Better

Now that Avery is home with Dad most of the time, she rarely has much than a plain ol' onsie on. Boring. Ave will just have to wait until the weekend to feel pretty. This is much better.

Never gets old

We have definitely gotten our money's worth out of the gator. Now we have to rotate drivers. Logan will still wedge his 8 year old body into the drivers seat. The gator's hanging in there and still providing lots of entertainment.

Good Eats!

Little lady takes on the spoon and loves it. She was giving her brothers the longing stare when they ate their popcicles and other snacks so we decided to letter try some cereal. She is a big fan and eats it thicker than I though she would.

A moment never to be forgotten!

Oh, if I had only had my camcorder I could have captured an unforgettable moment of Logan's life...unfortunately I am intimidated by the freaking thing so I didn't have it! This blog post will have to do.

We are playing the Rockies for the last game of the season before the tournament. They are in first place we are in 8th, and Connor plays for the Rockies. We were certain we would get schooled. So when we find ourselves winning we were all on the edge of our portable chairs. The Rockies sideline is up in arms and yelling at their team to pull their head outs...how could they be losing??? Logan is a pretty good 3rd basemen but he gets sucked into whats going on in the other teams dug out, so as you can imagine there was a lot of hot activity going on late in the game. Our little man was all ears. The Rockies have 2 outs and no runs in the inning and it was late in the game. Their batter is loading up the count. The ump raises the ball to put it in the pitching machine...Logan's absorbed in the Rockies dugout. CRACK! A hard line drive right into to Logan's mitt. HE.DOES.NOT.DROP.IT! OUT!!!! The look of surprise on his face as he stopped that ball from making it to the fence. He immediately is snapped back into the game and throws the same batter out at first base. OUT! (again). Either way that batter wasn't making it through thanks to Logan B! Bring it in boys. Logan hustles into the dug out with that classic Logan smile and the crowd is going crazy! We have a chance to win this game. The entire team surrounds Logan with pats on his back, hugs, high fives and cheers! The team was going crazy. I raced over there and witnessed the whole thing. The pride on Logan's face was priceless. Thank God for his guardian angel! We end up winning that game, upsetting the number one team. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! We then lost to them by a couple of runs in the second round of the tournament. Who cares. For that moment Logan was the hero of the team.
Logan will hopefully have this memory with him always as it is a moment I hope to never forget!

14 Weeks

This pretty girl has been here 14 weeks already. She is a huge slobber box. She shares some spit bubbles in the middle picture. She is definitely a keeper!

Baseball boys

The B boys are really turning up the heat in baseball this year. Lucas and his team are actually throwing people out at 1st and 2nd base. They look like they know what they are doing. However, there are still those 6 year old moments. Lucas field a ball with his bare hands in the outfield. He would have used his mitt had it not been snuggly sitting on his head over his hat.

Logan is a monster on the field. He has been caught actually thinking strategically on the field. He took a couple of bases without the coaches sending him and they were smart moves. He rarely strikes out (no jinx as we still have a couple of games ahead of us). The boy is loving the game. He is actually going to a baseball camp this year...which is a minor miracle for him to want to go.

School's Out

After a little bit of arm twisting and stern talking, I was able to assemble the clan to get a picture of the boys on their last day of school. We are officially a third grader, first grader and a pre-Ker. Hard to believe Kale is moving on up to "real" school.

Let summer begin!

Lucas goes yard

Mighty Lucas steps up to the plate and stares down the pitcher (AKA big daddy). He gives him the look that says, "Bring it old man" and taps his bat on the plate. He raises his bat into position and the ball hurls toward him. He hikes his leg into the air like a pitcher and swings with all his might. CRACK. The ball is sent deep into the outfield...all the way to the fence! Those little legs kick in and he rounds first, then second, on to third and the coach sends him. It's going to be close (well as close as you can expect with a bunch of 6 year olds) and Lucas slides into home. He's safe! HOMERUN!HOMERUN!HOMERUN! His fists are pumping in the air and his celebration begins. Way to go Lucas!

The rest of the night he referred to himself as the homerun hitter. The homerun hitter needs another scoop of ice cream. The homerun hitter doesn't want to take a shower. The homerun hitter needs a snack. On and on and on. Oh, sweet Lucas!

Silly Girl

Miss Avery has discovered she can stick her tongue out. She also found her giggle this week. Add that to sleeping through the night several consecutive nights and we have some major milestones met!
