It's Lake Time!
Lake time is back and the first weekend on the water was outstanding. Jamey, Julia, Myles and Ella helped us crack open boating season. The weather was amazing, the water just a bit cold but it didn't stop us for swimming for hours. Day 1, we logged 9 hours on the water. Day 2, just about 7 hours. The kids played hard and ate like kings/pigs. They were bottomless pits! Avery took to the lake like a champ. Ella braved tubing. We scarfed down whitey's chicken. BBQed and fished off a friend's dock. Made smore's. Myles and Logan were glued to their itouches. Stayed up too late with the leopard. So much fun!

Lucas and the kindergarden class had beach day today. There was face painting, crafts, water wars, snacks, bubbles. He had a great time!

Homer
This fierce player scored his first home run last night. Granted an error helped make that happen but we won't get caught up in the details. I think he expected a parade when he got home from Lucas' game. His team keeps losing but Logan is playing so well and having such a good season I don't think he notices or cares, 'cuz he is doing well.

Random bits of our weekend
The first really nice, warm day and we broke out the sprinkler. Logan didn't jump in as he thought it would be too cold. The other B boys had no issues and had good fun.
Then we went to the outdoor mall. Because of the trip Kale needs to write an apology note something like this:
Dear American Eagle,
I am sorry I pulled down the pants on your female mannequin. I am also sorry that I nearly peed my pants with laughter when I did it and but she had undies on...and that's funny. I am also sorry it caused my brothers and the people around me to laugh hysterically. That was not a good decision.
Kale
And finally a Logan Quote said through clenched teeth and tears running down his face:
"Dad told me I need to grow up... well maybe he needs to grow down!"

Nearly 1K
The B boys and I ran a nearly 1k today. Each of the boys ran the entire "race". Logan ran with the second graders so he went with Meredith and Connor while Lucas, Kale and I ran with the kindergartners. We ran in the rain which was totally awesome per the boys. I was surprised and proud that no one walked. I think we could have all tackled a whole mile. Running club twice a week at school really pays off for the bigger boys. After the race we waited in line to get an autograph from D Mac (that's Darren McFadden of the Raiders for you non Arkansans). They are ready for their next run...well all except Kale. He says the next run, it's Camden's turn. Step up to the plate Camden!

Seat at the table
Guess who is loving a seat at the table??? Thank you Graco for making our high chair a recliner. Little miss loves getting to sit with us while we eat. Not to mention it makes getting things done a lot easier as she can see what's going on. Don't think I haven't thought about pulling the high chair into the living room so she can watch Baby Einstein (pretty sure that will happen soon!).
Baseball is in full swing
Let the games begin! The boys have put on their underwhelming uniforms (apparently this is what $70 gets ya) and have taken the field. Lucas is in coach pitch which means big daddy is throwing the heat to the kindergartners. So far Lucas had gotten a hit every time and made some great plays in the field. Last night coach Kale and coach Logan ran the dug out as all the real assistant coaches couldn't make the game. Love baseball!

Mother's Day 2010
So normally I'm not a huge fan of mother's day. I expect everyone to treat it as a spectacular day and it's just the same as any other day...fighting, whining, complaining, etc. I have to be a mom on mother's day and that just doesn't make sense. However, this year the boys really got into it. They were all about making crafts with no grown up help. Kale cut out a bunch of different shapes out of paper and put them on my bathroom sink. Lucas made me the picture which he placed right next to my bed. Logan made me the picture that he proudly displays on the piano. Both pictures make me laugh out loud. They each also made card for me and put a dollar in each one for a Sonic. It's nice that they actually were thinking about me! I still had to be a mom on mother's day but they made me feel special and that's all I'm asking for every once in a while.

The muscle shirt
The boys are big fans of the muscle shirt. Why, I have no idea. It could be due to the fact that they are secretly fans of monster truck competitions, mullets and Nascar racing. Plus the pediatrician said that Kale had very defined Trapezius muscles. I had no idea that we even had a muscle with that name. Let's get that boy a bowflex and enter him in some competitions! We would have to make a major investment in bronzer/self tanners and we may need to throw in some protein shakes because Kale is not a "box" like most kids at 4. He's more of a rectangle at 42" tall (86th percentile!) and 36.5 lbs (can't remember percentile). Anyway back to the muscle shirt...per Lucas, Avery wears girl muscle shirts. This petite little flower weighed in at 11 lbs 5 oz (about 50th percentile) and 22" (26th percentile). She check out perfect if you don't count a touch of torticollis on the right side. Being that Kale had severe torticollis and we did the PT with him we are going to just pull out the old PT notes and go at it on our own and reevaluate at her next appointment. Shots knocked her down pretty good. She has been very sensitive and sleepy...if you hold her. Kale got a "metal" of bravery for taking his shots like a man.
This little lady is getting very close to sleeping through the night (hopefully I'm not jinxing myself) as she has had a couple 8 hour sleeps. Loving that!

A whole lot of holy
This weekend was jam packed full of a whole lot of holy moments. Avery was baptized and Logan received his first Holy Communion. It was a great weekend despite all of the craziness (appendix removal, finals, baseball, soccer, school, etc.) prior to our families arriving. The Jam-O's, the Kasey's, the Zach's, Nana & Papa, Grandma & Grandpa, Troy & Conner, the Todd's all made it in for the big events. The majority of them all stayed in our house which lead to some creative sleeping arrangements and some really great times. Love getting family together
Avery's baptism was perfect. There was no real odd occurrence that marked this event as with all the other baptisms. Avery was awake and ready for her big day. She didn't cry at all thanks to the binki. She looked beautiful in her white dress.
Logan's 1st communion was an amazing experience as a parent. It choked me up for what ever reason. We were very proud of him and he was very proud and excited to be going through the experience. He couldn't wait for communion time. He did everything like a pro! He told me afterwards that the consecrated host tastes way better than the ones he practice with. Still not a big fan of the wine though. I have a feeling he won't be complaining every weekend about going to mass for a while. Taking communion will be the motivator for him. He looked so handsome and grown up in that suit!
Besides all the sacraments there was also a lot of family fun:
- Lots of snugglin' for Avery
- Tons of playing with cousins
- Bleeding and injuries for Emerson
- Shaved head for Uncle Rynooski
- Biking boys (Jamey & Ryan )conquered the big hill after the midnight hour
- Fart Frank 1 and Fart Frank 2 entertained Kale & Camden
- Power hour and other college games
- Great BBQ that made uncle Zach drool
- Endless supply of cake
