A first and a break up

The First

Avery had a big first this week...her first babysitter. She and Kale had the pleasure of Ms. Bunnie taking charge. I would like to tell you it went smoothly and she was a real angel. I would like to tell you she smiled and cooed to no end. But my little lady likes to make evenings a little stressful with complaining and sometimes hysterics. Evenings had been getting better so I was hopeful it would be a real treat for Bunnie. Well allegedly my sweet angel cried and fussed the whole time. It may be a while until there is a second and I didn't even get to have any fun during this first.

The Break-up

Why did Avery have this first experience at 8 weeks and her parents not get to enjoy it you ask? Well I was dumped and it's a classic break-up story..."It's me not you, I just need my space". The break-up was like a sucker punch in the gut. I was surprised and hurt by it all. It was worthless and I won't miss it. Farewell sweet appendix, you are dead to me.

On the road again

We hit the road this weekend for 1st communion palooza. Both Emerson and Austin both had their first trip in the communion line in KC on the same day (which is totally not fair that they got to do it before Logan...wah, wah). It was Avery's first road trip and she was a fabulous traveler. It was a quick weekend as Camden busted out a fever on Friday. She tried to keep us in AR but no such luck! Avery met a bunch of her cousins, aunts, and uncles for the first time and had I remembered my camera I would have captured it but instead it sat on Kasey's coffee table so we'll have to get some pictures when everyone is here this weekend. Despite the quick nature of the trip it was a great weekend with lots of playing, dress up (poor Kale), jumping on Austin's trampoline, good eats, lots of cake, Mad Gab and much, much more!

It's too bad for Avery that all the patterns I have start at 12 months but good for those who I know have a 1 year old!

Avery made a valiant attempt to knock off Logan and is world record however, she fell short by about 2 weeks. Today that nasty umbilical cord finally said good bye!

Logan is 8!

Logan has been waiting to turn 8 for a long time and it is finally here! He didn't get a cell phone or his hunting license but it was a good birthday no the less. Doubt it will be the one that is forever captured in his memory though. Like a boy after my own heart, his b-day celebration stretched over 3 days...party, bike, actual birthday. We hid his new bike in the neighbors garage. I told him there was a deer head in there and to go check it out. He was disappointed there wasn't a deer head. Guess I shouldn't have chosen such a glamorous trick. Then on his actual birthday he got to learn that when you get a big expensive gift the other gifts tend to not be as significant as he would like (ie ipod touch). Not to mention Daddy hurt his feelings which allegedly ruined his whole birthday...for like an hour!
