A new adventure

Logan is not known to be adventurous or one who embraces big change. So when he, on his own accord, decided he wanted to try flag football I nearly passed out. After triple checking my double check I signed him up. As expected he was ready to quit when it was eval time but when the choice was reimburse me for the sign up fee or go through evals, he survived the eval. Amazing. He had done really well and I think he secretly likes it. He doesn't really miss soccer. His buddies Cole, Conner and Tyler are on the team. He plays both offense and defense. He has gotten a few key tackles, broken up passes and even made an interception. No real yardage though. No biggy. Steve is the offensive coordinator. I think Logan likes having dad help coach. It has been fun for him. I never get to see him play as I am always at a soccer game. No fair.

The time has arrived...

Kale finally gets to play a sport versus just watch his brothers play. He exuded confidence. He said, "Mom, I feel like a pro!" That feeling lasted one practice. Second practice he was very sick. Third practice, the shark took his ball when playing sharks and minnows. This brought on alligator tears and the declaration that soccer is stupid. The remaining 30 minutes of practice he sat on the bench crying and trying to figure out how to still get his snack without going back out on the field. He actually slugged his body out to the field and put one foot out there to turn around and ask if he earned his snack. Umm, no. He caught the coaches final statements and got his snack. Thank God this is only Little Kicksters so there are no game situations as this little man would struggle!

Go Cats!

Bring on the cats!

Totally made Avery's cute Wildcat dress!

What is the S scratching??? And where is the U? Not sure what he S is doing but the U is about 20 feet away complaining that he had to be the U. So after we gave up trying to convince him the U was cool we took the picture without him and headed in only to deal with crying for another 20 minutes about how he wanted to be the U now! Ughhh, I can't win...but the Cat sure can!

The first day of school

The day Kale has be anticipating and the L's have been dreading has finally arrived. The day comes with some nerves and some excitement. No more late summer evenings...back to homework and a schedule. Yuck! But, the fellas are back with their fellas. So much fun to see the friends again. And Kale was to the moon with excitement. Marched right into that classroom and hid behind my legs! The room was packed with parents, siblings and new kids. It is too overwhelming. However, the boy was brave. ..sat down and started playing and let me walk the other boys to their classroom. Second day, he told me I didn't need to hang around so long this time! WTH? Logan and Lucas knew the drill so it was no big thing. Found their desks, hung up the backpack, took some pix with friends and let the day begin.

BMXer

We discovered a BMX park this summer and they boys love it! Kale hasn't braved the actual corse but has fun anyway. As you can imagine Lucas tears it up and we practically have to drag him off when it's time to go. Logan is in awe of the teenager than can get air over the hills. Steve and I have both raced the boys and sadly I lost. Steve would have lost had he not ran Lucas off the course causing him so much pain he couldn't continue! Drama...

Oh, Kale

Where did my little boy go? In just days you will be starting school and I can't believe it. I wish I could stop the clock on you growing and keep you just the way you are. Bring my baby back!
