Steve was in the kitchen doing dishes and Avery was hanging out with him. She suddenly go quiet and he looked over to find a snoozin' Avery. Love how her foot is propped up, her belly is hanging out and she gripping that binki. Funny girl.

5 Months

It amazes me that this beautiful little lady is already 5 months old. She is such a happy, funny girl. She loves to roll around, suck on her tongue, watch her brothers, jump in the johnny jump up, spit when her mouth is full, chew on toys. I love to listen to you babble, squeal with excitement and oh how I love your belly laugh. Watching you play with your feet, try to figure things out or just give your coy little smile are things I hope to never forget. I am in awe of watching you grow too quickly. Now if can just figure out how to snuggle you back to sleep in the morning like daddy can I'll be set.

A little summer visit

We had a great visit this weekend from some of our KC cousins. They brought along the newest "cousin" who has way more hair than Avery...plus 2 more legs. Ellie and Maybel got along pretty good which surprised me as Maybel doesn't always like other dogs. The kids had a blast on the lake. Both Lucas and Emerson tore it up on the tube and water skiing. The water skiing is a first for the both of them this summer. Lots of swimming, jumping in the lake, shore time, skipping rocks, eating and tubing. We all were a little sun kissed by the end of the day.
Avery had plenty of arms to hold her. Even a little help being fed! Uncle Rynooski got smushed under the giant dog pile...probably because he fell asleep at another random time during the day. We love having lake weekends to share with our cousins!

It's here!

Avery has her first tooth! Just like her big brother Logan, her first tooth arrived at 4 1/2 months. No wonder she has been drooling like a Saint Bernard for the last 2 months. You can't see it in the picture but it's there. The second one isn't too far behind it.

90 degrees

Little miss squirmed around throught out the night until she was about 90 degrees clockwise. Didn't hear a thing.

A math lesson

Steve decided to work on math with the boys so bring on poker night. Black Jack with the name of the game. They had to count money to ante in and add up the points to see who one. It was interesting to watch each one's approach. Lucas immediately sorted his coins. No organization by Logan and Kale just kept throwing a bunch of money in the kitty. It was a lot of fun but Lucas couldn't win. The whining came first. Then all out complaining. Soon both money and cards were flying. As I a parent, I laughed loud. It was hilarious. By the end of the game no one was happy and black jack was stupid but no one wanted to quit. Oh what fun math can be!

Batter Up

After a lot of hard work by the B boys, the batting cage is up and running...and it's a hit! Each of the boys helped but Steve couldn't get anyone of them to dig one of the many 30" holes. Kale was the hardest worker of them all. Logan kind of disappeared during work time. Lucas was a close second to Kale in contributions. Contributions were the way we ranked who got to hit first, but I totally cut in line. Writing the check is definitely a big contribution! The dirt is settling so we have some more work to do but it doesn't keep us from hitting.
